The latest (complete) building at Stong from the 12th century was excavated in 1939 Explanation: "yngste" looks like a germanism ("jüngste" - most recent) -- the problem is - what does this adjective refer to? The building itself or the excavation? 1) Was the latest building excavated in 1939? 2) Or was the one excavated in 1939 the newest one at the site? Unless there are commas missing, there is nothing to decide between the alternatives. |
