outstanding Explanation: Compare the two annual reports (2006) of Fred. "The outstanding amount under the credit facility at year-end was USD 500 million. At year-end, the Company has outstanding unsecured senior debt notes totaling NOK 300 million, due in 2009. In addition, at year-end the Company had outstanding NOK 58 million in subordinated convertible bonds, due in 2009." Assuming the translation of this weighty document is correct, it seems as though "opptrukket" can have a couple of similar meanings, at least. It might also refer to the amount that has been drawn by the loaning party (at least a brief search for "opptrekk" seems to indicate this). It won't do to insert "outstanding" into the sentences you provided, but this should give an idea of the meaning of the term. Reference: http://www.fredolsen-energy.com/arch/_img/9068712.pdf |
