membership units Explanation: See the first link for the example sentence from aksjeloven at § 1-3 (2), differentiating "selskapsandeler" from "aksjer". A corresponding term in the U.S. for an interest in a limited liability company that doesn't issue stock would be "membership units" -- see second link for examples. I don't have the British equivalent at hand right now. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 4 hrs (2011-03-01 13:29:27 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Brigid, I think simply "units" would suffice, given what the translation of the Act uses. (Guess I'll have to surrender some funds to Revisorforeningen -- never have been able to break their monopolistic grip on the translation. ; ) Example sentence(s):
