Tax on ground rent Explanation: 3. Statistics production 3.1. Population The statistics include all non-personal taxpayers that come under the special rules for taxing power companies in accordance with the Taxation Act chapter 18. This tax obligation covers all companies that own hydroelectric power stations or those entitled to withdraw power. The power companies are often involved in other activities in addition to electric power production, and can thus be in another main industry than electricity, gas and water supply. 3.2 Data sources The statistics are based on information from the Directorate of Taxes' Register of Non-Personal Taxpayers. This includes data on the basis for taxes on natural resources and tax on ground rent income, for each power station. 3.3. Sampling Total census, cf. section 3.1. 3.4. Collection of data The Directorate of Taxes forwards the Register of Non-Personal Taxpayers to Statistics Norway after the taxes have been calculated. In principle the registers are obtained before any complaint and amendment cases. Such cases can take a long time to settle, and out of consideration to timeliness the registers are obtained after the ordinary assessment. This has traditionally been done in November/December the year after the fiscal year that is covered. Reference: http://www.ssb.no/english/subjects/10/02/skattkraft_en/about... |
