hardware platform Explanation: The items you mention are all about just the machine - hardware - and say zip about technology (e.g. Mac or PC). -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 26 mins (2008-10-24 07:05:07 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- The operating system is just a feature of the hardware; web browsers are HW-irrelevant as long as the OS supports them. For technology platform to be relevant, criteria would have to include things like databases, LAN/WAN protocols, and a load of other stuff that goes beyond individual client machines or servers. If they do, feel free to run with technology platform...:-) |

system requirements Explanation: Per is correct of course, but I'd like to offer this up as an alternative. What you're describing is essentially the system requirements, and is something that's included with virtually any PC software. It includes both hardware and software. "System platform" and just "platform" on its own might be viable alternatives as well. |
