Previous suggestions include rotten, a pain, annoying, lousy. When talking about closet homosexuals who keep their sexuality hidden, I do not think these words fit. As a person who has been through this myself, I understand what he is getting at, but I just cannot think of a single English word that would fit here, unless I change it completely and say "something to be ashamed of", but "kjipt" and "shame" are not the same are they?

This question has been answered before. Regarding the comments about understanding the Norwegian sentence, it should be "who keep it a secret and think/feel that doing (or having to do) so is a pain."
