Norwegian term or phrase: Tsunami assistance - note in Norwegian...
Hello everyone,

Apologies for using this method for an answer, but a very good friend of mine has asked for my assistance. He has a friend who was in Thailand at the time the Tsunami hit and has found an article on the Internet about him and I would appreciate it if someone could give me the English to this passage so as to understand the content. I presume it is Norwegian anyhow. Again my apologies, but thank you for your understanding given the circumstances.

Bergenser i live

Explanation:
Man from Bergen also alive
Stein Larner (55), originally from Bergen, currently a resident in Thailand, is also alive and well.

- We have called to notify the police today, on the number supplied, and have also advised Stein that he and Henrik are on the list. But he and my grandson Henrik Larner are fine, and are still in Thailand, reports Solvig Larner, mother of Stein Olav Larner.

agree  Charlesp: a minor comment, though not wrong "nummeret som er oppgitt" as "the number supplied" would be better as "number provided"

-> Hi Charles; beg to differ, as a number provided would be one set up especially for the occasion. This may well be the case, but is not in evidence. Agree that supplied is less than ideal, and could go with listed/given/stated number on reflection.
