myndighetssak
matter involving public authorities

Explanation:
Myndighetssak (one t) seems to be just any legal matter or case where at least one of the parties is a public authority. The word also occurs in Swedish, where other definitions may apply.

Another valid definition may be "a matter for the authorities", i.e. a matter where a public authority should step in and apply itself.

Notes to answerer
Asker: Thanks. That's all I've been able to determine so far as well (other than the effect of my heavy finger on the "t" key when entering this . . . ). None of these parties is a public entity. Still hoping someone has something specific.

agree  Vedis Bjørndal: I think this applies to Per's last definition. The authorities in question in this case. Such an authority may be f.ex.Datatilsynet.

(admin.) judicial review case; (priv.) misfeasance proceedings

Explanation:
Judicial review both in the US and UK involves a public authority. The writ of mandamus in US admin. law - ordering a party to do sthg. - is equiv. to a mandatory injunction in private law.

If none of the parties is a public entity, the myndighet may be a misbruk scene, so misfeasance (proper act performed wrong) or malfeasance (unlawful act).

Example sentence(s):
  • Misfeasance in public office is a cause of action in the civil courts of England and Wales.
