discharge debriefing Explanation: This is where e.g. a doctor discusses the reason for admission to hospital, the treatment given, the follow-up care etc with the patient, or maybe a midwife debriefs a new mother re her birth experience, which may have been at home or in hospital. There is a good example of this in the first reference. A pre-discharge meeting is different and is where a patient may need other care at home or in the community, involving other health care teams, physios, social workers, etc Reference: http://ww.jordmorforeningen.no/tj/Tidsskrift-for-jordmoedre/... pre-discharge talk Explanation: "Pre-discharge talk" and "discharge talk" are both used in this context. I think personally that "talk" is a better and equally informal translation of "samtale" than "meeting" and "interview". -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr (2010-05-19 11:03:38 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- It is true what you say, however it is not exactly a technical term nor a medical term, I wouldn't expect it to be many hits for it as it is just an everyday term if you like and not "worth" the appearance in a document online. Do you catch my drift? A better suggestion, than searching online, would be to phone a hospital and ask them what it is called... :) Example sentence(s):

discharge meeting/conference Explanation: I guess it depends on what the Norwegian involves. Is it just a quick word or a more formal affair? I've only ever been given a card for the local taxi firm, while my granny has major meetings with doctors and social services and so on before being sent home |
