tail Explanation: -Vi ligger på hjul til... -We're tailing them to... Å legge seg på hjul etter noen betyr å kjøre etter dem, gjerne i vill fart. I dette tilfellet er det neppe snakk om villmannskjøring for å nå dem igjen, men snarere å følge etter dem i trafikken, kanskje i litt høy hastighet, for å komme fram til samme bestemmelsessted. Uttrykket ser ut til å bli benyttet med en viss humoristisk undertone, dvs. at det neppe har gått farlig fort. |
