Incubation and culture of dilutions Explanation: A fixed amount of the incubated dilution of the type/reference strain, perhaps 1 mL or perhaps only a 50-µL loopful, was seeded onto a sab plate and allowed to spread naturally over the plate or was streaked out using the loop (the plate was then incubated at 30ºC, not 300ºC). The previous, now hidden, suggestion of ‘seeding’ could be used, but here is another option. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 day2 hrs (2009-04-29 13:00:09 GMT) Post-grading -------------------------------------------------- 'Szczep muzealny' is not always the same as 'type strain' or 'reference strain', but in this case it looks like ATCC 10231 was used as a type or reference strain, and was not just one of many strains taken from one or other culture collection and tested. |
