Wydaje mi się, że "w obecności czegoś" (presence) to określenie trochę przezroczyste (przecież nie chodzi o obecność, tylko o działanie katalizatora) a tu użyto właśnie określenia wobec, stąd moja propozycja "using" (często pojawiającego się w opisach patentowych), ewentualnie on albo, jak zaproponował Kamil, over.
