Esej poświęcony historii endoskopii:

Wziernik ten [wziernik Bozziniego] udoskonalił w kolejnych latach francuski urolog Pierre Salomon Segalas (1792-1875), prezentując w 1826 roku ulepszoną wersję pod nazwą wziernik cewkowo-pęcherzowy, a po nim Maximilian Carl-Friedrich Nitze (1848 – 1906).

urethrocystic speculum
Explanation:
The groundbreaking feature of the speculum urethro-cystique, which Pierre Salomon Ségalas (1792-1875) presented in 1826 to the Parisian Academy of Sciences, was its construction concept. The instrument was designed primarily for inspecting the urethra and interior of the bladder.

The instrument was intended for inspection of both urethra and bladder, and because of its twofold use, was called a urethrocystic speculum.

Infact Max Nitze was preceded by many ancient scientists
from the start, Philip Bozzini (1807) who invented Lichtleitor (candle
and urethral funnel), then came Pierre Segalas (1826) who invented
two Candles, mirror, polished silver urethral tube, stylet and
introducer (Speculum urethrocysticum)
