urethrocystic speculum Explanation: The groundbreaking feature of the speculum urethro-cystique, which Pierre Salomon Ségalas (1792-1875) presented in 1826 to the Parisian Academy of Sciences, was its construction concept. The instrument was designed primarily for inspecting the urethra and interior of the bladder.
