It has been cultivated throughout recorded history, used as a source of industrial fibre, seed oil, food, recreation, religious and spiritual moods and medicine. Each part of the plant is harvested differently, depending on the purpose of its use. Cannabis Explanation: Polski termin "ziele" nie ma właśiwie dobrego odpowiednika w j. angelskim. Należałoby więc użyć albo tłumaczenie "herb" (zioło - co w przypadku marihuany ma dwojakie znacznie), albo po prostu Cannabis, gdyż z podanego konkestu nie wiemy, o jaki gatunek konopii chodzi (Cannabis sativa, Cannabis indica itd.). W zielarstwie pisze się tylko Cannabis. W botanice stosuje się zapis Cannabis sp., gdy mówimy wogóle o konopiach biorąc po uwagę całość rodzaju (Cannabis - kopia), bez rozróżniania na gatunki.
