Soc. sec. > social security. NI > National Insurance. The a/cs keep on about reversão, as opposed to revisão vs. revalorização, though both of the latter would IMO be plausible alternatives to the (unhelpful) abbreviation. Carry-forward, though, of the credit against future taxes would be more of a contender. But I'm unsure whether the Portguese term encompasses such a concept.
