Portuguese term or phrase: partes vs. peças
This could just as easily be an automotive context.

Does anyone know if there is any substantive difference between "partes" and "peças", or are they both "parts" in English? Here's the poser I'm faced with:

"...motores de aeronaves, suas partes, módulos, componentes, peças, e acessórios". I want to avoid writing "parts" twice.

Admittedly, this sentence is lawyer-speak - the usual lawyers' long lists of near synonyms to cover all eventualities - it's not technical prose as such.

agree  Carlos Quandt: OK, since the original text seems redundant... "replacement parts" could also be an option

agree  R. Alex Jenkins: Yes, 'parts', as in a wing or a wheel or a part of the fuselage etc....as opposed to mecahnical spare parts - the nuts and bolts of the engine.

anyway, there's no substantial difference between "partes" and "components".
To me they're all the above terms are very close. I'd pick "elementos" once componentes is already in your list.

parts / equipment / fixtures

Explanation:
Partes and peças are both normally translated as parts as far as I know. To avoid using parts twice you can either leave one of them out or replace one of them with equipment or fixtures. I've written many technical specifications in my life and we love these terms because they are so generic that they cover anything that you may have forgotten to mention.
