- Para substituir o uso de parênteses, vírgulas e dois-pontos, em alguns casos.

neutral  Paul Dixon: But why did they write Barra? Barra means 'dash' or 'forward slash' and a forward slash appears early on in the text. Can't see it as the name of a school (would have to be Escola, Colégio, Ginásio or something along those lines)

This is the actual name of the symbol /, as there is also a backslash. (Slash could be either, in theory). But the mystery remains, why was 'Barra' written rather than just '/'?
