Claramente, o texto que a colega está a traduzir se enquadra numa vertente infelizmente muito popular na nossa cultura, e outras de matriz cultural francesa, em que os autores não têm uma preocupação com o significado preciso do que estão dizendo, desde que soe bonito.

"Imagético", aí, me parece querer dizer simplesmente "da imagem" - a imagem em questão sendo o vídeo "xxxxx". Daí, "image decharacterization", seja lá o que "descaracterização" queira dizer.

O rei (ou, no caso, o crítico de arte) está nu :)

Resumo
Este trabalho discute algumas motivações estéticas que norteariam as apropriações da imagem
fotográfica pela criação imagética, sem considerações sobre a natureza do suporte ou plataforma tecnológica. Investigamos as idiossincrasias criadoras do olhar, a natureza da imagem fotográfica e sua
apreensão estética sob a forma de uma realidade fotopoética. E seria esta que substancializaria o
criador, das diferentes poéticas imagéticas, na apropriação do fotográfico. A Fenomenologia da imagem poética de Gaston Bachelard fornece a base teórica para a nossa reflexão.

Abstract
This paper discusses the aesthetical motivations which would lead the appropriation of the photographic image by the differents imagetic creation, whitout considering the bases nature.
The study looks at the regards idiosyncrasies, the photographic image nature and its aesthetic apreension as a photopoetic reality. This would establish the creator from differents imagetic poetics would lead the appropriation of the photograhic.
The theoretical basis of this study is Bachelards Phenomenology of the creative imagination and poetic image.

São estruturas abstratas e genéricas advindas da dinâmica da imagem; caracterizada pela observação humana. Diz respeito a muitos aspectos da atividade do ser humano no espaço, tais como: orientação, movimento, equilíbrio, forma etc.
Estruturas imagéticas mais comuns refletem as percepções de percurso, dimensão/conteúdo, parte/todo, ligação, centro/entorno, em cima/embaixo, frente/trás, entre outros.

I'm not sure if there is an exact expression for this in English. Marlene, your references for image-rich seem to imply "lots of images," although I think the term might be usable here, too. Or maybe something like "subjective imagery" (just guessing!). The fact that people's eyes and ears are to be involved leads me to believe that it's meant to be a subjective experience.
