Portuguese term or phrase: rubrica semanal
This is about a radio programme.
"...o novo programa é uma **rubrica semanal** em que um convidado ligado ao universo musical escolhe os temas a emitir a partir das suas preferências musicais no momento."

The terms seems quite well established to judge from Google but I'm not sure what "rubrica" conveys here. Is it just another word for "programme" or is a particular sort of programme e.g. guest programme?

weekly installment

Explanation:
RUBRICA - Tendo a sua origem no latim rubrica, estava relacionada com “rubro” (vermelho) e designava “terra, argila vermelha” ou “giz de cor vermelha”. Os títulos dos livros antigos e dos manuscritos medievais eram sempre escritos a vermelho, daí a designação rubricas.
Actualmente, os dicionários registam rubrica como o título dos capítulos de livros de direito civil, significado este que se foi alargando para “pequeno apontamento ou indicação”

Example sentence(s):
  • estamos no arranque do XXX fazer uma pequena rubrica semanal

"a show presented by a different special guest each week...

Explanation:
....with connections to the music world/industry who will.....etc etc"
Perhaps it is best here to explicate as I cannot think of a direct translation that will convey the meaning - just one of many possibilities. :)

weekly signature

Explanation:
The meaning of signature here is of something unique, something that cannot be reproduced. The word is used in portuguese-BR to mean the creation an abreviated name by a person, the purpose is to have a unique signature. In general it is used for signing checks or contracts or anything else.

The invited guest chooses unique themes for the program based on his actual musical preferences, that's what makes the program unique like a rubrica is.

Example sentence(s):
  • He has this intricate, unique signature that is quite beautiful.
  • Her signature is so long that nobody can duplicate it.
