Portuguese term or phrase: virador
I have a document from Portugal talking about energy savings in a power plant, it is all bullets so context is an issue, here is the whole "box":

Parar a bomba de circulação logo que a turbina entre em virador (implica alteração do circuito de refrigeração)
Só utilizar bomba de extracção para repor nível no tanque de alimentação
Parar ventiladores 2h após o apagamento do último queimador

None of the entries for virador seem to fit here.

Thanks!

rotate
Explanation:
Take a look at the Wikipedia article and see what you think, on how it defines a turbine. Basically, it rotates:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turbine
A turbine is a rotary engine that extracts energy from a fluid flow and converts it into useful work. The simplest turbines have one moving part, a rotor assembly, ...

I agree, the use of "virador" is particularly ugly.

"...as soon as the turbine starts to rotate", for the last part of your sentence.

Esta definição é de acordo com o Routledge Technical Dictionary.
Caso seja aceita, gostaria que Judith Ryan concedesse os pontos à Carla Diana Cardoso pelo mérito da pesquisa inteligente.

Parar a bomba de circulação logo que a turbina entre em virador (implica alteração do circuito de refrigeração)

Stop the circulation pump as soon as/soon after the turbine´s turning gear engages (this implies changing the cooling circuit)

neutral  R. Alex Jenkins: The problem is that 'virador' or 'turning gear' is a noun, otherwise I would have suggested that and Judith would have already translated it. // So what? You didn't suggest that sentence structure, but simply posted a noun. As an afterthought, it's good.

-> Any reasonably experienced technical translator is supposed to know what to do when faced with structures like this one. So I considered it unnecessary to repeat the whole thing.
