Portuguese term or phrase: boca da fonte
This is a monologue given by the director of a national park in the Bissagos Islands (West Africa). He's talking about the local chief ordering the land to be burned.

Boca da fonte - does it mean the mouth of the sea? A well?

Any ideas?

Thanks!

English translation:water spring(s)
Explanation:
I guess he's talking about water springs. "Fonte" can be translated as "source", in this case, water spring, I believe.

He's probably referring to the area where the water springs are.

agree  Lara Barnett: Yes but "water" is not necessary. We normally just say spring or springs and this is understandable due to its context. i.e. Just "spring" or "springs" is sufficient https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki
