agree  Adrian MM.: by the same token, 'direito comum' ought to be translated as 'ordinary or general rules of law' as opposed to 'Common Law' (= Anglo-Am. Common Law) and mistranslated by many (most?) Romance-lingo (French etc.) translators.

  -> Common Law is untranslatable. Another, more erudite, error is "direito consuetudinário", which is properly translated as customary law.
