NB imposibilitar > preclude (Tom West III's ESP/AmE law & business dictionary).

I don't think the Linguee translation of 'disable' works too well in this context.

Anecdotally, exactly half a century ago when I had been embarking on undgrad law & languages studies of ENG contract, our first law lecturer - a Barrister, as it happens - going into the topic of 'frustration of contract' quipped to the class with me sitting at the front, red-faced and with tongue hanging out: 'frustration is not what Adrian thinks it is!'
