infecting / parasite-infected erythrocytes per animal Explanation: First part: The general term «infecting» can be applied, as it is implied that the discussion is about a parasite infection; «parasite» can indeed be a verb, but it does not sound very fluent. Second part: I always prefer «erythrocytes» for formal texts (rather than «red blood cells»); again, I would prefer not to use «parasite» as a verb; this sentence structure seems more fluent. |
