Formal but unconsummated marriage Explanation: "Rato" is something that is legally signed or fully recognized by a social group or a culture _ as it has been very well remarked above by Luciano. I would change the "e" into "mas" because formally married people facing such situation usually ask their marriage to be annulated. The word "rato" makes all the sense once it does not refer to a common law marriage which status is recognized by legislation in many US states. |
