Voter's certificate [proof] of good standing Explanation: There is no specific translation. Remember that quitação means you owe nothing. It is not a discharge from voting duties. Some people will say it is a discharge but I don't think it is the right word as quitação is also achieved when you present proof of having voted in the last two elections. e.g. Additionally, voters may also request, at any time, the issuance of an Electoral Certificate, like the Voting Release Certificate, which proves that a citizen is in good standing regarding his/her civic duties and political rights. Discharge of electoral duties is a mandatory requirement for citizens to participate in public life, which includes, for instance, taking public office or having their individual taxpayer number duly issued and recorded.
