English translation:to adopt a broader view on
Explanation:
Olá Catarina, Aqui na Inglaterra nós usamos muito o termo 'broader view', no sentido de ter uma visão mais ampla, abranjente sobre algo. Acredito que é este o sentido da sua frase.

'Necessidade de se adoptar um olhar plural'. O comprarativo está implícito no sentido da frase. Ou seja, a necessidade de fazer alguma coisa diferente do que era feito antes. De se adoptar um olhar plural, mais amplo, mais abrangente, direfente do que tem sido. Eu entendo a frase dessa forma.

Notes to answerer
Asker: I am inclined to go with this, although Lucy's point about the original not having a comparative is a fair one. I think perhaps there is an implication that the general approach is flawed and so a comparative could be used.

Asker: In the glossary it appears as multi-faceted view...

I'm sorry. I had not seen your commentary when I made this suggestion. At any rate, allow me express my agreement with "multi-faceted view". (Don't forget to collocate with "take" instead of "adopt". In good earthy English one takes a view. Despite the expanded meanings the verb allows for, generally one only adopts children and stray animals.)
