Portuguese term or phrase: parcial
Hi colleagues,

I need to translate "parcial" from Brazilian Portuguese into American English, as per the following sentence:
"A eliminatória foi boa, fiz a melhor parcial da minha vida nadando, 46 segundos nos 100 metros e errando apenas uma virada."

Context: Interview with swimmer about swimming competitions and his performance.

Thanks!

split
Explanation:
I believe that even though he’s talking about his “partial” time in terms of time/100m, he means this:

Split – A swimmer's intermediate time in a race. Splits are registered every 50 meters (or25 yards depending on the pool and equipment on hand) and are used to determine if a swimmer is on record pace.

agree  Tereza Rae: Estou votando na forma singular, que cabe melhor na frase original: 'I had the best split of my life'.

neutral  Mark Robertson: Parcial here refers to 100 meters, i.e. 2 or 4 splits depending on the length of the pool.

-> You have a point, Mark. So does ‘partial’ make any sense here?

The Splits

Explanation:
While technically "split" would be correct there is a certain way of employing that term.

For example, if you were to watch a youtube tutorial on how to do it the video would be entitled: "How to do the Splits"
