the ability to form complexes comprised of antioxidants Explanation: the ability to form complexes comprised of antioxidants linked to the stable radical DPPH•. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr (2015-08-03 10:57:09 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Why the author did not say "complexes with antioxidants" (complexare a antioxidantilor) I do not know. I did not have sufficient time to research this question. However, I believe there is a 40% chance that the following alternative is more correct, even if less safe: the ability to form complexes with antioxidants linked to the stable radical DPPH•. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr (2015-08-03 10:58:49 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Based on 1 chemistry article, the antioxidants do not form complexes with the DPPH radical but actually bond to it. Therefore I am really confused. More context would be desirable. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr (2015-08-03 11:02:04 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- complexare = "forming of complexes" (of course), not just "complexes". I should have made that clear. |
