Romanian term or phrase: s-a pierdut amprenta vegetației naturale
Prin urmare, nu se pot descrie asociații vegetale veritabile și tipuri de habitate, deoarece prin utilizarea de lungă durată a terenurilor s-a pierdut amprenta vegetației naturale.

Mulțumesc.

-> Was thinking that supplant literally denotes a succession of vegetation, and native means indigenous but avoids the ambiguity between formerly and currently indigenous. But yes, if preferred, one could say the imprint of the natural vegetation was lost.

neutral  mrrafe: OK, I see what you mean. But native and natural aren't synonyms. All plants are natural, only some are native (indigenous). I think the meaning here must be native, not natural.
