art affairs
Explanation:
I would use "art affairs", because, "художественная жизнь" covers not only artists, it also covers critics, viewers or theater goers, who enjoy the performance or art production.

Artistic activity

Explanation:
I felt "life" would have been too general. So I choose "activity," which implies doing art, not just living passively as an artist.

Example sentence(s):
  • Art is a diverse range of human activities in creating visual, auditory or performing artifacts (artworks), expressing the author's imaginative or technical skill, intended to be appreciated for their beauty or emotional power.[1

disagree  The Misha: Now, how is Artistic Life so radically different from Life as an Artist that you are absolutely sure of it? And who is Mr. X? And what scene?
4 hrs
  -> It is completely different—it is about the artistic scene of a country, or a city, not a person.

disagree  The Misha: Art Life of X isn't even grammatically correct English, strictly speaking.

  -> I think you should have been banned from here a long time ago, Misha. With your senseless remarks. The Lilian. You have no clue about English grammar, so please stop annoying people. Art Life of New York is not grammatical, from when? Just stop confusing

disagree  Ilan Rubin (X): Ban Misha? Seriously? He's one of the few people here who actually does know English properly. The people who should be banned are those born in non-English speaking countries to non-native speakers who claim to be native English speakers...

neutral  katerina turevich: actually, it should be "the Arts Scene (in a city)" - notice the plural form and the locational preposition; you can also make it an adjective, as in "Petersburg arts scene" - but it sounds a bit too flippant for a syllabus.
