Here's my rationale: The name should be short, sound Russian, be easy to pronounce, and have some association with boozing. So keep the Russian word, but lose the adjectival ending. The longer the word, the harder it is for a non-Russian to read and pronounce. Also, "zapoi" keeps the association with drinking. If someone cares to look it up, the meaning can be found fairly easily.
