pages are stitched/sewn together with a twine Explanation: This is what they use for books and documents. Also, baseballs, footballs, etc. E.g.: The finished leaves were given numbers, and two long twines were threaded through each end through wooden boards. When closed, the excess twine would be wrapped around the boards to protect the leaves of the book. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bookbinding -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 17 mins (2009-12-27 17:02:41 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Современные переплетчики используют суровую льняную нить, вот такую, как показана здесь: http://www.quietfiredesign.com/byhandproductswaxedlinen.html Ее тоже называют общим словом twine, но если вы хотите сохранить слово "нить", то можно написать "coarse thread", что тоже передаст ваш смысл. |
