English translation: textile and apparel (clothing) industry

Russian term or phrase: швейная промышленность
Hello. Does anyone happen to know the generic term for this in English? I understand it to mean sewing of clothes, but also sometimes sewing other items for sale, e.g. tablecloths. I can't think of one term in English that covers both these meanings. Perhaps there isn't one and I should use "clothes manufacturing and ?"

agree  Rachel Douglas: "Apparel and finished textiles industry" is used, without even adding "other" before "finished". And here's a whole mouthful: SIC-2300 Apparel & Other Finished Prods of Fabrics.
