1) Против break лично я возражаю: break на кривой ассоциируется с разрывом, а не с изломом/перегибом.

2) Насчет salient point/inflection point согласна, это разные вещи.

3) Есть еще один вариант названия: vertex. Вот в этом документе посмотрите рисунки 1 и 3 и текст на стр.6. На рисунки представлены типы кривых, а на стр. 6, в частности, написано вот что:
Vertices. If a curve has a kink then two points of the curve are connected at this point representing a non-continuous change of direction. In this case there are at least two half-planes whose boundaries touch the given point and contain at least part of the curve including the point as inner point. This point is called a vertex of the curve (see Figure 1c).

Дима, во-первых, broken line и line break - это две очень большие разницы, так что здесь надо быть осторожным, чтобы не набрейкать дров.

Во-вторых, kink действительно годится.

Ну, а в третьих, vertex - это точка, но есть еще и такое понятие, как vertex angle, то бишь угол между двумя частями/звеньями кривой в этой самой злополучной точке. Так что фразу вполне можно построить и таким образом: a two-part trajectory with orthogonal vertex angle
