Russian term or phrase: центнер
Средняя урожайность зернокультур составила 42 центнера с гектара.

I am really confused about this. I have seen it translated as quintal and hundredweight. I need to put the equivalents for both a US and a UK audience, but some sources say it is equivalent to 100kg and others say it is 50kg.

Does anyone know for sure what it is?
