mackerel fillet Explanation: It IS mackerel, no mentioning of sturgeon or salmon there. Name of product: Tsarskaya caviar made of ocean and other fish fillet. (Икра царская из мяса океанических и других рыб) Ingredients: Mackerel fillet, vegetable oil, salt, jelly-forming agent pectin E440, food colorant E172, preserving agent E 202, 211. (Мясо скумбрии, растительное масло, соль, желеобразователь пектин Е440, пищевой краситель Е172, консервант Е202, Е211.) If you think of buying this product be aware that this is NOT a real caviar, but a far less expensive imitation. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2 час (2006-05-13 13:16:19 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- I forgot to mention, that I don't know why the producer mentioned "other fish" in the name of the product, while the ingredients clearly include only mackerel, as far as the fish part goes. I guess they thought that this way the name would sound more attractive and the product would be more "buyable" :) |
