Отдельного общего термина для такого типа перевозки (heavy-duty LNG and compressed natural gas vehicles) я не видел. Поскольку (скорее всего) английского аналога не существует, его следует установить. По-моему, ударение при переводе нужно ставить на тип поселения, нежели на нерентабельность трубопроводного снабжения. Пример: The terms “off-grid community” and “remote community” are used for communities that fulfill the following criteria: Any community not currently connected to the North-American electrical grid nor to the piped natural gas network.
