Конечно, тягу можно измеряить и в фунтах, и в ньютонах. Но если её измеряют в килограммах, то обязательно добавляют букву с (сила) или f(force), чтобы не путать с килограммами, которыми измеряють массу (вес, по-старому). См., например,:
