Только выходцы со стран СНГ поймут это слово, рожденное в местах не столь отдаленных (и в армейских частях этих же стран). Посему переводите просто как "воровство". Для нормального человека все-равно кто у тебя украл - твой брат или человек с другой стороны глобуса, n'est-ce pas?
