maestro di lubok/della stampa popolare

Explanation:
Лубок è un genere di stampe popolari russe, direi precursore degli odierni fumetti. Essendo un fenomeno tipico russo, molto diffuso, oltre alle traduzioni del tipo "stampa popolare" che, a pensarci bene, non rendono appieno la sua particolarità e tipicità, viene usato anche il termine "lubok", senza traduzione. Io opterei per "maestro di lubok".

Pensavo che volesse dire anche qualcosa come "pittore da fiera", ma non ho trovato conferme in nessun dizionario, neanche nel Dal'.
Puoi tradurre letteralmente, altrimenti potresti dar libero sfogo alla fantasia e aggiungere a mo' di sottotitolo: "Andrej Kuznecov infonde nuova vita alle stampe popolari russe".

Asker: Grazie mille! In generale nella tesi lascio sempre lubok (anche perché parlando di fumetti il discorso è abbastanza specifico), però come missdutch pensavo che quest'espressione potesse avere anche qualche sfumatura di significato in più, probabilmente mi sono fatta ingannare dall'ordine delle parole!
