formwork protective coating and release agents Explanation: http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:OgZaUv8... PROTECTIVE COATING/ RELEASE AGENTS >> Coat all the form work panels with mould oil before initial use and preferably after 2 uses, subsequently. If the panels are left unused for a long time, recoating before the next use is essential. A typical mould oil is heavy mineral oil or purified cylinder oil. Do not use too much mould oil. A thin, evenly applied film, well worked into the surface, is sufficient, and this is best done with a sponge or mop. Avoid using a hard brush. Never allow the mould oil to puddle or drain into corners, as this can cause delay in the setting of the concrete and staining. For economic application, the mould oil may be sprayed. http://www.engineeringcivil.com/how-can-release-agent-help-t... How can release agent help to separate formwork from concrete? This calcium/fatty acid product (grease or metallic soap) is stable and causes the formwork to release from the hardened concrete. It is this slippery, greasy, non-water soluble soap which allows the easy releasing of formwork from hardened concrete http://www.tunnel-online.info/en/artikel/tunnel_2011-01_Surf... Surface quality of concrete using steel formwork ... . It exhibited massive corrosion damage, despite a protective coating applied to the steel formwork facing. |
