Where binder is introduced volumetrically into the mix, it is advised that checks are made to ensure that the binder system is capable of handling Olexobit C45 or C60, in common with other proprietary binders, due to their higher viscosities compared to conventional paving grade bitumens. If the binders are to be stored for longer than 3 days without the addition of fresh binder, the temperature should be reduced to as low a value as practicable (preferably less than 120°C and ideally less than 100°C) and, where possible, without recirculation of the binder.
