Stochastic hydrology Explanation: http://www3.imperial.ac.uk/ewre/courses/mschydrology/stochas... Stochastic hydrology was developed very rapidly as a science and an approach to water related engineering decision making over the last 25 years. This corresponds to the increasing realisation that lack of data requires supplementation either by robust statistical aids to decision (e.g. extreme value theory) or by stochastic models which allow for the simulation of possible realisations of a given time series. This course aims to give the MSc students an introduction to this constantly growing field. |
