Entre los principales países que importan el cacao peruano destacan el bloque de la
Unión Europea y los Estados Unidos, que representan, en conjunto, casi el 90% del
total importado. Respecto a los principales países miembros de la Unión Europea,
destacan por sus mayores importaciones los Países Bajos (en particular Holanda),
Alemania, Bélgica, Francia y España, con un total del 82,5% del total importado
por este bloque económico. Respecto a los Países Bajos, en el 2015 el Perú ocupó
el quinto lugar como país proveedor, incrementado sus colocaciones en 121% con
respecto al 2014 (17 mil toneladas en el 2015), superando a países competidores
como Ecuador y República Dominicana.
