Reference Reference information: http://repositorio.ucsg.edu.ec/handle/3317/11224?locale=en Abstract: Applied geophysics has taken a breakthrough for engineering purposes where this knowledge can be used for different purposes, there are non-destructive geophysical methods that allow to deduce the dynamic characteristics of a site. The main objective of this research is to study the application of multi-channel analysis of surface waves in their active and passive variants, to obtain the profile of shear wave velocities. This research will focus on the determination of the resistant layer for the tip of the piles of the structure for access to the new port of Manta, by using different sources in active trials, studying the geometric properties of the arrangements of geophones in passive measurements , and the combination of the results obtained with both techniques. These tests will be used as a complement to other geotechnical tools. The results of these tests will be compared with the peak of the piles driven into the project, and it is proposed to analyze the use of these tests to determine efficiently together with the traditional method of drilling. Description: La geofísica aplicada a tomado un gran avance para propósitos ingenieriles donde se puede usar este conocimiento para distintos propósitos, existen métodos geofísicos no destructivos que permiten deducir las características dinámicas de un sitio. El principal objetivo de esta investigación es estudiar la aplicación del análisis multi-canal de ondas superficiales en sus variantes activa y pasiva, para obtener el perfil de velocidades de ondas de corte. Esta investigación se enfocará en la determinación del estrato resistente para la punta de los pilotes de la estructura para el acceso al nuevo puerto de Manta, mediante el uso de diferentes fuentes en ensayos activos, estudiar las propiedades geométricas de los arreglos de geófonos en mediciones pasivas, y la combinación de los resultados obtenidos con ambas técnicas. Estos ensayos se utilizarán como complemento a otras herramientas geotécnicas.
