na | one-cell box girder |

one-cell box girder Explanation: My Routledge gives 'box girder' for viga cajón. The link is to an article on how one-cell box girders are used for bridge/viaduct construction. Here's an extract: The winning version - in respect of both viaducts - is a prestressed concrete structure bridge with incremental launching method with piled foundations. The larger viaduct (1400 m) is supported by SOIL-MEC piles (Fig. 4). The one-cell box girder superstructure consists of three sections, of which the middle two-span will be built monolithically on scaffold. FRANKI-system piles support the small viaduct (200 m). The cross section of the superstructure of this bridge coincides with that of the large bridge. (Fig. 5). Reference: http://www.eat.bme.hu/fib/cikk/v00_en_full/cikk_00en-6.htm |
