Spanish term or phrase: Tendido
Hi all,

I'm translating an architectural report for a legal case where a tourist has slipped on some stairs and has injured her arm. This report uses aspects of Spanish law to justify the unsuitable nature of the stairs for use. The translation is from Spanish (Spain) to English (UK).

The tricky phrase appears in Article 13 of 'Ley 3/1993, de 4 de mayo, para la mejora de la accesibilidad y de la supresión de las barreras arquitectónicas' (https://www.boe.es/eli/es-ib/l/1993/05/04/3/dof/spa/pdf). Please see below for context:

'1. Las escaleras se harán de manera que tengan una dimensión confortable de tendido y frontal que facilite su utilización por personas con movilidad reducida.
(...)
5. El tendido se construirá en material antideslizante sin resaltos sobre el frontal.'

Could anyone help please? Many thanks in advance for your help :)

Explanation:
Creo que aquí se refiere a la ¨huella¨(la parte horizontal donde se aspoyará el pie) de la escalera.
I´am shure it means ¨stair footprint¨
