English translation: spend time

Spanish term or phrase: convivir
"Es adolescente. Ya no quiere convivir con nosotros."

I've translated it as "live" and all of the sources I have checked say "live", but I'm doubting my choice. Would "spend time" be an acceptable alternative? The source is in Mexican Spanish. I've checked the Dicc. Panhispánico de Dudas, but there's nothing on "convivir".

Thanks in advance for your help.

spend time with us

Explanation:
It does mean to live together, but more than strangers who all live in the same house, there is also a relationship and you spend time together.

I understand it as: 'He/she is a teenager. He/she no longer wan't to spend time with us.'
