English translation:perform the power-on self-test
Explanation:
POST, siglas en inglés de power-on self-test o autoprueba de arranque, es un proceso de verificación e inicialización de los componentes de entrada y salida en un sistema computacional que se encarga de configurar y diagnosticar el estado del hardware.

https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/POST

A power-on self-test (POST) is a process performed by firmware or software routines immediately after a computer or other digital electronic device is powered on.

This article mainly deals with POSTs on personal computers, but many other embedded systems such as those in major appliances, avionics, communications, or medical equipment also have self-test routines which are automatically invoked at power-on.

Access the BIOS Setup program by pressing F2 after the Power-On Self-Test (POST) memory test starts and before the operating system boots.
If any problems occur after making BIOS settings changes, such as poor performance or intermittent issues, reset the desktop board to default values:

I agree, '...during the POST' is much neater. Thank you for the points and I glad to have been of help!
